Argentina

This is like no other country I have visited in Latin America. First of all, I was there in July which is their winter…and the first time I experienced snow in Latin America. Secondly, it was the first time in my Latin American travels when I did not feel like I stood out as a ‘gringa’. Argentine cities boast European heritage and cosmopolitan culture with a very Latin American flavor. It’s the best of all worlds. The only downside about this country is that it is so big. If you want to travel around either plan on some impossibly long bus rides or buying a few plane tickets.

Buenos Aires

This city lives up to its reputation for fun, glamour, and style. This dynamic city offers everything you would expect…shopping, dining, culture, and (of course) tango!

Cordoba

This is one of Argentina’s best kept secrets…to foreigners, that is. Lacking the reputation of glamour and vineyards, this city receives
relatively few foreign tourists. So, if you are looking for a real off the beaten path location, this is it. Cordoba is actually the second largest city in the country…home to one of the best universities. There is plenty of nightlife and culture. And beautiful mountains, lakes, and countryside are an accessible half-hour drive, bus, or train ride out of town. The best of town and
country!
